Tucked just off Lymington’s hustly-bustly High Street, a stay in our contemporary pad means you are close to all sorts of adventures! Honouring industrial roots, amongst a 21st Century renovation, we love the warehouse-chic style that still presides….

Under the high ceilings, an open plan layout & smart finishes make it clear that this space has been re-loved into the 21st Century. The charming mix of old & new combine the best of both worlds – creating a welcoming space to unwind and take stock after a bus day of explorations.

Speaking of explorations, you have definitely come to the right place! Located a matter of steps away from the (smack bang) middle of Lymington High Street – you’ll be spoilt for choice with where to eat, drink & be merry… Head down the cobbles for boat & bike rides (a tipple by the shore is always a good idea for afters), or get stuck into the smorgasbord of food & drink gems that surround.

Pssst… do earmark Saturday for a stroll around the market!

Inside

Our home has heritage, and we love how the industrial touches that remain celebrate its history as a vintage Lymington gem. Renovated to perfection, the old school architecture mixed with contemporary function & form create just the right vibe for staycation perfection!

Your ground-floor apartment (one of only five in the building) has an open plan living and dining area which are naturally sectioned by clever design- making the kitchen, dining table & TV corner feel like little separate zones.

… Even though your kitchen is kitted out for eating in, if you are looking to be excused from chef duties, you’re in the right place as just a minute’s stroll away from the High Street’s array of places to try out!

Everything here is neat as a button, clean & crisp, and set up well…You’ll find the WC/Shower room within easy reach, whilst the spacious bedroom (there’s that gorgeous brick wall again!) is separate to the main living areas… ideal if only one of you is a night owl!

Outside

Outside, there is a small patio area, there is a jasmine plant which will smell lovely and support pollinators and other wildlife. The area includes garden furniture so you can enjoy a coffee in the south facing sunshine.

But with Lymington town is quite literally on your doorstep, and there are plenty of spots to soak up the great outdoors! Just a 5 minute wander away you can sit & watch the world go by at the Quay, or test the water out by hiring a paddleboard. Walk a little further to picnic at the Bath Road park, or follow the Sea Wall all the way into Keyhaven and on to Milford on Sea.

Giving Spitalfields market a run for its money, the much-loved Saturday market has lined the High Street since medieval times; and remains a firm favourite for treasure hunting! But, whatever day you wander the High Street though, you’re sure to fall under the spell of the boutiques, cafés & shops that await in the gorgeous Georgian buildings!

If you want to explore by bike, you can hop on the train (for free) to head into Brockenhurst. With a huge network of tracks to try out, you’ll spot lots of local ponies, donkeys and cattle who freely roam around on your travels.
ParkingTwo car parks on the Barfields Road and Emsworth Road (short stay only) are only 2 minutes walk away where the parking clock provided can be used. Clock can also be used at other car parks in Lymington as well as many locations in the New Forest and on the coast.

Location, location, location...

You cannot get more central in Lymington than our lovely escape, Avocet. Tucked just off the High Street, you really can wake up ready & raring for Lymington escapades from here!

Head to Hoxton Bakehouse for your morning croissant & coffee, or hit the Saturday market to be first to find treasure. A little further down the High Street, follow the cobbles to the Quay for a people & boat-watching haven (we also love The Elderflower down here for a special supper out). Meet the resident swans, head out for a pirate trip, hire a paddleboard, or simply lose track of time watching the Sunseekers set out over The Solent- perfection.

Just a 2 minute stroll from Lymington Quay, Lymington Train Station is poised for pony-spotting adventures in Brockenhurst, or a day tripping to the Isle of Wight (head to Lymington Pier to catch your ferry).

If you are visiting during summer, we love the Sea Water Baths, but for whatever-the-weather adventures walk the Sea Wall to birdwatch all the way into Milford on Sea…

We have had a lovely stay in Lymington and an enjoyable relaxing time in your apartment. It had everything we needed in it, thank you. We would also like to recommend the Ship Inn and The Kings Head for very tasty meals. Hurst Castle is definitely worth a visit and we enjoyed the walk there from Milford car park along the spit. We hope to visit again!

Thank you for a wonderful stay. This has been the perfect base for exploring the area and for a departure point for the Isle of Wight. A very friendly community! The market on Saturday had such a great range of stalls, especially the 'Vegan Baker'! We had a great breakfast at The Haven, amazing views of the yachts. Also recommend the vineyard cafe and farm shop near Brockenhurst. Looking forward to our return visit!

What a beautiful place to stay. New Forest Escapes have been very helpful and we will use their properties in the future as a results and return to Avocet. As a non driver its very convenient for trains and buses. I took the train to Brockenhurst for New Forest walking, a day trip to the Isle of Wight as a foot passenger & walks to Keyhaven. I have had an amazing time, i rate my stay 10/10!

We had a lovely short break in Avocet, enjoying the last of the summer. We visited Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. As recommended The Haven was excellent place for a drink in the sunshine. We also ate Tapas at Briso and had a really enjoyable meal at 'Eat Pizza'. Flat is exceptionally comfortable, clean and so convenient for the town.
